Love the Striiv but hate their customer service!, May 21, 2014

I am on my second Striiv in two years. Had to replace the first one when it got wet. The concept is great, and it is so much more than a tracker of steps and miles. It is a real motivator. I am more active than I have ever been and am able to donate my "steps" through Striiv, to charitable causes. Having said all that, now the bad part. Amazon has been wonderful to deal with, but when I got the replacement unit, I needed Striiv to sync it with my old unit, that had stopped working. I sent eight to ten emails to Striiv over a two month period and other than acknowledgment that they had received my emails, there was no response They have also made sure you cannot contact them by phone. Finally, I complained to Amazon and a few days later I received a response from Striiv. I don’t know if my informing Amazon of my frustration in attempting to deal with the Striiv company helped or not in my getting a response from Striiv. However, I did feel that Amazon needed to know what type of support and customer care is given on products Amazon has contracted to sell. Why does such a good product have such unacceptable customer care?

I had the recent misfortune to leave my Striiv cord and wall adapter on the plane after a trip. I have sent Striiv two emails to see if they can sell a new charger and wall adapter to me. Anticipating the lack of response from them, does anyone have any idea where I can get this or can I use a substitution?

I’m moving more than I was before I purchased this. My children like to collect my coins and watch things grow in My Land. They encourage me to run up and down the steps to increase my energy points. I will update this review if I see obvious results.

While the idea of this product is great, the product itself is junk. Having bought 2 in the last few years because I like their concept of donating the steps to charities, both screens have stopped working shortly after purchasing. They do have a website where you can get help, however, their response time is slow. In addition, you can return it for another as there is a year warranty, yet the help desk instead of giving me the info to make the return easy refers to a website. Sorry I’m not spending anymore of my time to get a product that is unlikely to work.
