ok for the price () but if you can spend more, go with the FItBit Zip instead (), November 13, 2014

It counts steps, it works. For the price it’s not bad (I paid ). The cons: no display on the device so you can’t see your steps without syncing with a smart phone AND only the current days data is shown in the app. It claims to have a 30-day memory, but you can’t access the data so it’s worthless. The only data it stores beyond the current day is the cumulative step count (not sure how long, maybe that’s the 30 day memory they’re talking about). But all you can see is current steps since a certain day, you can’t see the breakdown of how many steps there were each of the days included. I need that information so that’s a problem for me. I attempted to call the company to see if there’s a way to get to that data, but I got no response to my email to their support address, their support phone voicemail was full and not taking any more messages. I tried leaving a voicemail with the sales department but no one called me back. Finally in desperation I left a voicemail for the CEO. No response. Pity because I am working on a research study and was going to order a number of them if I could get the daily step count for the past 30 days from it (which since they’ve advertised a 30 day memory one would think woudl be no problem). Instead I will be ordering FitBit Zips for all of our study participants.

If you don’t mind paying more (), the FitBit Zip is similar but better, more functionality in the app and the device itself (has a display on the device, the app shows data for not just that day but for at least every day for the previous month (maybe longer, maybe forever, I just need it to track a month at a time so that’s all I’ve verified). Seven days can be downloaded at a time on the FItBit Zip. It doesn’t say it’s for wearing on the shoe, but I have and compared it to other pedometers and the step counts were very close. I have investigated every pedometer I could find that can be worn on a shoe and that’s the best one I could find (criteria: can be worn on shoe, has a display, app with lots of functionality (eg stores more than just the current days data), accurate step counts).

Track your steps, compete with the whole family to stay in shape!, February 9, 2014
This review is from: iBitz Unity Adult Fitness Tracker (Sports)
I love this ibitz fitness tracker. My husband and I both wear them to work each day, and we check each other’s progress every day. We have a daily "I can do anything better than you can" game going, which is super fun…since I win often:-)

Great when you don’t want to wear out your battery. Lets you sync the Kids iBitz to your account. I like it allot. Great for the family. Love setting goals for my kids. My nephew and I set a goal for him when he hits 200,000 steps, I get an email and a link from Amazon when he is finished. He gets a Xbox game… 🙂
