I’m on my second one of these and it has the same problem. You can’t switch any of the temperature displays from Celsius to Fahrenheit. The instruction booklet tells you how, it just doesn’t work. Even if it did work it appears to be at least 6 degrees off anyway.

The Ultrak 830 Heat Index is a good stopwatch and countdown timer with a light, but if you want to measure the temperature, humidity and heat index and you live in the U.S. forget it. All of these readings are all in Celsius. Even though the instructions say you can switch to Fahrenheit; you can’t. That function doesn’t work. I contacted the manufacturer, CEI, and stated this saying that mine was defective and asked about a repair or replacement under warranty but they never got back to me. This defect has been reported by many others and I’m sure the company knows about it but chooses to ignore the problem.

Very satisfied with this stopwatch. I really don’t think the temperature is very accurate. Overall is looks like a well made product.
